Noah Campbell - School Leader

Mr. Campbell has been an educator for over 15 years since graduating from Bowling Green State University in 2002 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Having spent over half his life living in the Northwest Ohio area, he sees untapped potential in the students of Toledo. After being offered his "dream job" with Discovery Academy, he is determined to help those students realize their own vision of success. "It is my sincere intention to offer each student that attends Discovery Academy every possible resource to be successful in today’s highly competitive world," says Mr. Campbell. Currently, Noah resides right across the border in Luna Pier, Michigan, with his beautiful daughter, Sophia. He also recently completed his Masters degree in Educational Leadership. His motto is a derivative of a John C. Maxwell quote.

Barbara Kosch - Instructional Coach

Mrs. Kosch graduated from the University of Toledo with Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She joined Discovery as the Instructional Coach after spending 7 years as a 3rd grade teacher at Bennett Venture Academy in Toledo, Ohio. There, she also served as a Teacher Mentor (Resident Educator) as well as the middle school volleyball and basketball coach. She lives in Temperance, Michigan with her husband, Barry, her two children, Tyler and Isabella and her dog, Gus. She enjoys playing sports, swimming, and the great outdoors. Barb is excited to continue her journey as a part of Discovery Academy and undertake this amazing opportunity in her life.
Lisa Bachman - Dean of Academics (K-3)

Mrs. Bachman grew up in Michigan and received her Bachelor's Degree at Eastern Michigan University in 1991. In 1996, her family moved to New Jersey while raising their three young children, she pursued two teaching certificates. There, she earned her elementary certificate K-5 and a reading and math supplemental certificate. She moved back to Michigan with her family in 2011. She has been an educator in several states, which has molded her beliefs in equity, celebrating diversity, and developing partnerships. She firmly believes that success in education is about building relationships. She is very excited about being a part of the Discovery Academy Community and looks forward to another AMAZING year!
Julieta Flowers - Dean of Academics (4-6)

Ms. Flowers has been an educator in the states of Michigan and Ohio for over 20 years. Not only has she been a teacher in both elementary, middle and high schools, she has also been a Title I Director, Instructional Coach, and School Leader. Ms. Flowers is dedicated to her students and their abilities to rise above any adversity. In an effort to raise the bar for both her staff and students, Ms. Flowers' motto will always be "Good is Bad, if Better is Available".
Julie Jacobs - Special Education Director

Mrs. Jacobs has been in education for 22 years since graduating from the University of Toledo with a degree in Special Education. While this is her first year at Discovery Academy, she has been with the Leona Group for nine years. Mrs. Jacobs has dedicated her energy and time to support her students through roles as Intervention Specialist, Dean of Students, Instructional Coach, and School Leader. She is overwhelmed with excitement to contribute to the inaugural year of Discovery Academy’s Autism Wing. Mrs. Jacobs loves spending time with her husband (Nick), daughter (Tatum) and dogs (Ziggy and Scout).
Nick Jacobs - Dean of Students & Family Liaison

Mr. Jacobs is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Adolescent-Young Adult Social Studies Education. Mr. Jacobs began working in students in 2003 as an athletic coach. His first classroom of his own came in 2007 has since gained experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and school leader. Mr. Jacobs has also been a certified Resident Educator Mentor Teacher since 2010. He lives in Lambertville, Michigan with his wife (Julie), stepdaughter (Tatum), and three dogs (Brande, Ziggy, and Scout). In his spare time Mr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with family and is very active in his church. He is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Discovery Academy family, and is excited for what the future holds for Discovery students, families, and staff members!
Kristin Boss - Office Manager/EMIS Coordinator

Ms. Boss is thrilled to begin her fifth year with our Discovery Academy family. She has always had a passion for education, and at one time aspired to be a teacher. However, she happily settled into raising a family. Ms. Boss is the mother of 7 children & was a stay at home mom for many years. Since then, she has enjoyed owning her own store, being a flight attendant and even running a small farm in Arizona! Ms. Boss loves reading, sewing and knitting. She has a deep passion for our Discovery Academy students, who know that her door is always open to them for a chat and a cup of tea. Kristin lives in Curtice, OH with her children, St. Bernard, cats, goats, rabbits, flock of chickens and a Cockatoo parrot.
Anjelica Smith - Office Assistant

Mrs. Smith is excited for another year at Discovery Academy! In 2009 she attended school at Ross Medical Center where she studied Medical Billing and Coding. Anjelica has worked in various daycare centers and has always had a passion for working with young children. She is a very family oriented person and loves spending time with her husband Clifton and four children; Jeremiah, Kyla, Clifton Jr., and Maizey. In her free time Anjelica enjoys crafting (glitter), shopping, and watching football. This year she hopes to instill a positive influence and to build a close bond with the students at Discovery.

Miss Grup is a life-long resident of Northwest Ohio and graduated from the University of Toledo with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Go Rockets!). For 7 years, Sherri taught preschool and toddler children at Apple Tree Nursery School on the campus of UT and is currently in her ninth year educating Discovery's Kinders and LOVING it! Sherri lives in Rossford, Ohio with her longtime boyfriend, Eric, and two dogs, a Yorkshire terrier named Oliver and a Chihuahua named Finnigan. She enjoys reading, watching Gilmore Girls and Harry Potter, playing with her pups, movies and hanging out with her family and friends. Sherri is also an avid sports fan, and enjoys attending Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers games, as well as MotoGP and MotoAmerica professional motorcycle races. Sherri is excited to get this year started and enjoy every second with DA’s amazing kindergarten families!
Hannah Bassett - Kindergarten B

Miss Hannah Bassett has lived in Toledo, Ohio her whole life and is a 2018 graduate from the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Prior to working at Discovery Academy, Miss Bassett worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for the University of Toledo Early Learning Center and has worked in numerous day care centers. She currently lives in Toledo with her boyfriend Tommy, their puppy, Remi, and their numerous cats. When she isn't teaching, Hannah loves to spend time with family and friends, watch scary movies, and listen to Taylor Swift on repeat. Hannah has always had a passion for teaching the littles and is super excited to begin her elementary career in Kindergarten at Discovery Academy!
Taylor Duvall - 1st Grade A

Ms. Duvall graduated from Lourdes University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been here at Discovery Academy for 5 years! Ms. Duvall lives in Michigan with her 5 year old daughter, Eliana and two dogs Bella & Wrigley. In her free time she enjoys playing softball & volleyball, as well as hiking and boating. Ms. Duvall is excited to get to know, learn and grow with the students and staff here at Discovery. Go All Stars!

Megan Bengela - 2nd Grade A

Miss Megan Bengela is a life-long resident of the Toledo area and graduated from the University of Toledo with her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Miss Bengela has been working with kids for 6 years, starting her career at a daycare. When she isn't teaching, she loves to spend time with her cat, Custard, and her boyfriend Nick. Miss Bengela loves boating, listening to music, and watching Netflix. She is very excited to begin her second year teaching second grade! Miss Bengela has always had a passion for teaching and believes that each child is deserving of equal education. Miss Bengela can’t wait to get to know all of the students this school year!
Tyler Johnston - 2nd Grade B

Mr. Johnston graduated from The Ohio State University in May 2020 with his Masters in Early Childhood Education. He is new to the Toledo area, moving here after he received the second grade position at Discovery Academy. In his free time he likes to travel the world, and spend time with his family. He has been to 12 different countries. Some of his favorites include the two years he spent in China, and his trip to Spain. Mr. Johnston is excited to be a part of the Discovery family and looks forward to an amazing year.
Megan Hinojosa - 3rd Grade A

Mrs. Hinojosa (ee-no-ho-suh) graduated from The University of Toledo with honors in 2013, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. This is her sixth year teaching 3rd grade at DA. She earned the Educator of the Year award for the 2016-2017 school year, and she was inducted into the Leona Group Teacher Hall of Fame in 2020.
Mrs. Hinojosa lives in Toledo with her husband, Stephen, their three children Avery, Amelia, and Alex, and their two cats and tortoise. In her spare time, she loves to read, craft, and watch movies and ND football. Casey Black - 3rd Grade B

Born and raised in Toledo, Mrs. Black earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Lourdes College. When Mrs. Black is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, and playing with her dog. Her favorite thing to do is watch her son play baseball. Some of her favorite things are naps and snacks!
Shari Laviolette - 4th Grade A

Mrs. Laviolette is a Lourdes Graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education, with a 4th/5th grade Endorsement from Notre Dame College. This is Mrs. Laviolette's 2nd year at Discovery Academy and 9th year as a classroom teacher. Mrs. Laviolette lives in Northwood, Ohio with her husband Tony, and 2 children, Luke and Jade. When she is not teaching Mrs. Laviolette enjoys watching her daughter play college softball, and her sun coach football.
Lindsay Burke - 4th Grade B

Ms. Burke is the 4th grade Language Arts and Science teacher. She has been teaching in Ohio for over 10 years. Her favorite part of being a teacher is seeing kids learn to do things they didn't think they could do at first. She loves finding ways to sneak Math and Science into her reading lessons, and is passionate about preparing students for the STEM careers of the future. Her favorite thing to do outside of school is read books and spend time with her family.
Kasey Rogers - 5th Grade A (Math/Science)

Miss Graham is a graduate of Lourdes University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Math and Science Education. She is very excited to begin her fourth year at Discovery Academy and is eager to implement new and invigorating ideas into her classroom. Ms. Graham's ultimate goal each school year is to create a safe and positive learning environment where every student can achieve their greatest potential. Some of her hobbies include traveling, reading, and kayaking.

Julie McLaughlin - 6th Grade A (Math/Science)

Mrs. McLaughlin grew up in Toledo, Ohio and is a proud graduate of the University of Toledo. Go Rockets!! The 2018-2019 school year will be her 17th year working in education, having served in both teaching and leadership roles. She absolutely loves working with upper elementary/middle school students and is excited to be teaching 6th grade math and science at Discovery Academy. Mrs. McLaughlin loves spending time with her family – playing games, watching scary movies, traveling and just hanging out together. She volunteers with the American Red Cross and has personally donated over 5 gallons of blood, in total, to help others.

Julie Constantino - Intervention Specialist

Miss Constantino is an intervention specialist from Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Bowling Green State University, and during the summer, she enjoys swimming and in-line skating.
Kaitlyn Hershey - Intervention Specialist

Miss Hershey is a recent graduate from Bowling Green State University. She is originally from Ashland, but has been living in Bowling Green since college. She enjoys spending time with her dog and being outdoors. She is very excited to continue working with the students of Discovery Academy!
Olivia Hernandez - Intervention Specialist

Ms. Hernandez is a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University. This is her second year at Discovery Academy and she is so excited to be a part of the Discovery team and community. She has had experience in Bowling Green, Fostoria and Toledo districts. Ms. Hernandez grew up in Northwood, Ohio. She loves to take adventures on her bicycle and keep active. She enjoys reading mystery novels and watching horror movies with her friends and family.
Bailee Rinderle - Autism Wing Teacher

Miss Rinderle graduated from Bowling Green State University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. She is originally from Coldwater, Ohio, but has spent the last 5 years living in Bowling Green. Miss Rinderle has always had a passion for teaching and working with children. This is her second year at Discovery Academy and she is excited to work in the Autism Wing. In her free time, Miss Rinderle enjoys watching Netflix watching football (Go Blue)!

Spencer Grivanos - Behavioral Specialist

Mr. Grivanos or “Mr. G” as he is known at Discovery Academy is a 2012 graduate of Ohio University, where he studied psychology and earned a Bachelor's degree. In 2014 He went on to receive his Masters degree in School Psychology from the University of Toledo. Mr. G joined the Discovery team in October of 2019 as the Behavior Specialist. Prior to working at Discovery Mr. G worked in a plethora of jobs working with kids. He enjoys Michigan Football, Running, Biking, and hanging with his dog, Dani. Mr. G is excited to be a part of the Discovery Family and wants everyone in the Discovery Community to know his door is always open.

Jennifer Loeffler - Speech Therapist

Mrs. Loeffler has been a Speech Language Pathologist for over 25 years, and has been with the Leona Group since 2014. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She has worked with students of all ages, from preschool to those transitioning from high school, helping students with a variety of communication needs. She lives in Bowling Green, Ohio with her husband Tim, son Logan and dogs Cooper and Maddie. When she's not watching her son play baseball, she can be found trying to improve her very poor photography skills, doing any DIY home improvement project from painting to tile work or dreaming of a trip to Disney World!
Sarah Boerst - Occupational Therapist

Since 2003, Sarah Boerst has been working as an occupational therapy practitioner. In 2014, Sarah earned a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toledo and has worked in a variety of traditional and non-traditional settings throughout her career. Currently, Sarah lives in a rustic cabin in the woods with her husband, two children, and three dogs. Sarah enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and hiking in the woods with her dogs. Sarah is very proud to work with the Discovery team!

Tammy Knighten - Truancy/Family Liaison

Mrs. Tammy Knighten is excited about joining the Discovery Academy family. Tammy graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA In Family Life Education. Tammy has spent most of her career in various positions of child advocacy. Tammy is a Certified Teaching Parent, Foster Parent Trainer, and ACT Parenting Class Facilitator. Tammy is married to Andre and has one daughter Gabrielle, and a puppy named Mr. Chocolate.
Nikole Ninni - 1st/2nd Grade RTI Para

Ms. Ninni is originally from Akron, OH and has lived in Toledo for over 20 years after moving here to attend college. She is a graduate of the University of Toledo and has worked for Discovery Academy for the past 6 years. When not at school, Ms. Ninni can be found at home with her daughter and her fur babies (3 cats and one dog) or working out in the gym and is currently working on obtaining her Personal Training Certification. She also spends her free time reading, watching all things Cleveland sports, and with friends.
Paul Spates - 5th/6th Grade RTI Para

Mr. Spates is a proud graduate of Whitmer High School and a youth minister at House of Prayer church. He has been with The Leona Group for eight years. Mr. Spates loves working with the students to help them gain confidence. He’s excited about making an impact in the lives of the students of Discovery so that they can make an impact on the lives of people they encounter in the community.
Tiffany Tower - Kindergarten Aide

Mrs. Tower is excited to continue her journey with Discovery Academy! She grew up in Bedford with her mom running a home daycare and has 4 years experience in a 5-star preschool center. She lives in Erie, Mi with her husband Tyler and their three children, Tanner, Trevor, Teagan, and golden retriever, Tootie. In her spare time she loves to go camping, play games, crafts, and spend time with family.

Robbie McCrary - 2nd Grade Aide

Ms.McCrary, is very thrilled to become a member of the Discovery Academy team this year. She is a mother of three boys, Ayden, Adreyan, and Aundre. She has an associates degree from Herzing University in Medical Assisting. She has an passion for working with children, she also enjoys cooking, shopping, reading and spending time with her family and the family pup "Levi". Ms. McCrary looks foward to growing with the staff and kiddos here at Discovery.

Marcia Polin - 3rd Grade Aide

Marcia Polin is in her sixteenth year at the Leona Group. She is the proud mother of three children. She attended Bowling Green State University, where she studied journalism. Mrs. Polin is excited to bring her love for children and her skills to Discovery Academy! In her personal time, she likes to spend time with her husband Keith, as well as going to church, reading, playing scrabble, and attending musical events.
Stacie Jones - 4th Grade Aide

Miss Jones joins the Discovery team after almost a decade of serving as a team leader for the Kids Unlimited after-school program. She loves working with students, and it excited to be a part of the Discovery team!
Austin Pase - 5th Grade Aide

Mr. Pase was born and raised in Canada, but moved to Ohio at the age of 7. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2016. He was married to his wife in June of 2017. Together they have 2 daughters; Sophia (6) and Delilah (11 months) 2 cats, and a dog (full house.) Family is everything to Mr. Pase. In his spare time he enjoys training and teaching Gracie Jiu-jitsu at Gracie Bayview, where he has been training since 2009. Last year was his first year at Discovery Academy. He loved the family atmosphere so much that he is excited to be back making an impact in the lives of the students. He has a real passion for learning and teaching.
Sarah Englehart - 5th Grade Aide

Miss Englehart has been with The Leona Group for 4 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Robin Grames - 6th Grade Aide

Robin Grames is from Jasper, Michigan where she attended Sand Creek High School graduating in 2000. She later attended Everest Institute graduating with an associates degree in Massage Therapy. She joined the Discovery team in 2015 as a Paraprofessional. Also, coach's basketball for her son and youngest daughter. She lives in Toledo, Ohio with her husband, Greg, her 3 children, Laney, Jaylen, and Alexandria. She enjoys running, playing basketball, hanging out with her family, watching football (GO BLUE) and spending her spare time working with soldiers and their families as the Family Readiness Group Leader. Her husband is coming up on his 30 year mark in the United States Army. She is excited to work with the staff and students.

Clifton Smith - Custodian / Cafeteria

Mr. Clif is a former Bowsher Rebel who is attending Owens Community College to earn a degree in Business Management. He was married to his wife of nine years in May of 2010. Together they have four children; Jeremiah, Kyla, Clifton Jr., and Maizey. Clifton's passion for family and his faith in God are two of the most important things to him. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, playing basketball, and going to church. Being new to Discovery Academy he hopes to instill integrity, hard work, and perseverance to make for a successful school year.
Kylie Carter - NYAP Therapist

Miss. Kylie graduated from University of Toledo with her Bachelors degree in Social Work and after a few years of working as a Domestic Violence Court Advocate she went back to school at Eastern Michigan University, graduating with her Masters in Social Work. Miss. Kylie has been working within Discovery Academy since the Fall of 2013 and loves the family that Discovery has built and the involvement that the Discovery staff takes in each students life. Miss. Kylie and her husband taking walks in the Metro Parks with their daughter and two dogs.

Kelsey Hampton - NYAP Therapist

Ms. Kelsey Hampton is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) who graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Clinician Mental Health Counseling. Originally from Southern Ohio, Ms. Kelsey moved to the area a year and a half ago and joined the Discovery family in October of 2019. She lives in Toledo with her two rescue dogs, Minerva and Newt. In her free time, Ms. Kelsey enjoys reading, playing board games and going on spontaneous adventures with friends. She’s excited to collaborate with Discovery Academy staff and families to ensure the students are happy, healthy and ready to learn!

Jason Avina - Changing Lives Therapist

Mr. Jason is a 1997 graduate of Bowling Green State University, where he studied comprehensive science education and earned a Bachelor's degree. In 2003, he went on to receive his Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. Mr. Jason began working with Discovery in 2019. Prior to working with Discovery, he worked for 14 years in community mental health. He has visited 26 countries on 5 continents, and loves being exposed to different cultures. He enjoys talking, and is always willing to assist parents, staff, and kids.
